Fortuna Filmworks was founded in 2025 in Harlem, New York City — a neighborhood steeped in artistic legacy and cultural richness. The company was born from a simple but powerful conviction: that independent cinema should be fearless, authentic, and deeply human.

Jarritt Negri II
Founder & Director
Jarritt Negri II is the founder and creative force behind Fortuna Filmworks. Based in Harlem, New York City, Jarritt established the company in 2025 with a singular vision: to create independent films that honor the craft of storytelling while pushing creative boundaries.
With a deep passion for cinema and a commitment to authentic narratives, Jarritt leads Fortuna Filmworks as both director and producer. His debut short film "The New Look" — a sharp comedy about friendship and reinvention — earned an Official Selection at the Independent Shorts Awards, signaling the arrival of a distinctive new voice in independent film.
Jarritt's approach to filmmaking is rooted in collaboration, resourcefulness, and an unwavering belief that great stories can come from anywhere. From the streets of Harlem to the screens of the world, Fortuna Filmworks represents his commitment to empowering the originality of the human spirit through storytelling.
